Guyanese national basketball player Akeem Crandon recorded his third consecutive win as Barry University defeated Emory & Henry 83 by a 95-83 score on Saturday on the collegiate circuit at the McAlister Field House in Charlestown, South Carolina.
Crandon recorded two points and as many rebounds in seven minutes of play. On November 13th, Barry University brushed aside Florida National 94-70. Crandon recorded figures of four points, five rebounds, two steals, and one block.
The team also defeated Montevallo 95-83 on November 11th, after they incurred their first loss to Alabama Huntsville 83-85 a day prior.
Crandon will return to the court against Bluefield State on November 25th at the Health & Sports Centre. The former Plaisance Guardian standout acquired a full two-year scholarship to the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Division 2 institution, Barry University of Miami, Florida, in June.
The former President’s College standout and Plaisance Guardians player received the athletic offer after attending a basketball showcase in April, where multiple offers were subsequently presented.
He averaged an impressive double-double of 13 points, 11 rebounds, and two blocks per game during his tenure with ASA College. Crandon also won first-team all-region in his conference.
