The Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation Inc. received a timely shot in the arm yesterday for its flagship National Senior Championships next Saturday, thanks to the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports (MCYS).
During a meeting at the Main Street boardroom with members of the federation and some of the athletes, subject minister Charles Ramson Jr. stated that the cash incentives for the top placers will be covered by the ministry. The magnitude of the support is just south of the $2 million mark.
The president of the federation, Keavon Bess, and the athletes present thanked Ramson for the kind gesture ahead of the December 2 event, which is scheduled to be staged at the National Cultural Centre, Homestretch Avenue.
