Quarterfinals of girls football tourney set

The quarterfinal section of the MVP Sports Girls Pee Wee Football Championship will commence today at the Ministry of Education ground at 12:00hrs.

Potaro will face off against West Ruimveldt in the first of the elite eight matches, while Smith Memorial will tackle St. John the Baptist in the second quarterfinal encounter.

Defending champion North Georgetown will lock horns with Tucville in the third match of the quarterfinal section, while the fourth matchup of the segment will pit Marian Academy against Friendship at 14:00hrs.

Meanwhile, in the 9-12 Plate Section, F.E. Pollard will match skills with One Mile, while Genesis will take aim at St. Aloysius at 13:00hrs.

The 7th iteration of the event is slated to conclude on December 9th. The winner of the event will receive $150,000 towards a school project and a trophy, while the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will receive $100,000, $75,000, and $50,000, respectively, towards a school initiative and the corresponding accolade.

On the individual side, prizes will also be awarded for the eventual Most Valuable Player, Highest Goal Scorer, and Best Goalkeeper.
