Six new tourism offerings unveiled in South Rupununi

On Friday,  the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA), as part of the South Rupununi Circuit Development Project in collaboration with Visit Rupununi, the Inter-American Development Bank, Compete Caribbean and SwissContact, officially launched six  new experiential tourism products at Manari Ranch, South Rupununi.

Chess sets donated

As the Guyana Chess Federation (GCF) continues to roll out its school chess manoeuvres, overseas-based Guyanese Raymond Singh, a former 1980s GCF champion, has donated 2,000 chess sets to Guyana to use in the school system.

Another 424 benefit from Public Service scholarships

Addressing 424 scholarship recipients for 2023/2024 at the National Culture Centre yesterday, Public Service Minister Sonia Parag emphasised that the programme aims to empower Guyanese with the necessary skills and qualifications to excel in their chosen fields.  “The areas that we have advertised for scholarships have been selected by the ministry based on an unofficial needs assessment that was done with the various ministries and agencies to identify areas within which they want to build their human resource capacity.
