The Moto Sharks Guyana Dirt Bike Championship is pencilled for December 2nd at the Carifesta Sports Complex, Georgetown, following the official launch yesterday at the Georgetown Club, Camp Street.
The event, which will be staged on the semi-motocross track developed by Jimmy Ten-Pow, is expected to feature 30 competitors battling in the traditional 65cc, 85cc, 125cc, 250cc, quads, and a 125 L Suzuki series, respectively. Similarly, races will also be conducted for beginners (50 cc), females, and those over 40.
Moto Sharks Guyana Assistant Secretary, Superintendent Prem Narine, noted that an exciting day of racing can be expected, noting that the funds garnered from the event will be donated to charity.
Meanwhile, Devon London, Head of Business at ENet, noted, “Anything that supports the youths of Guyana is part of our core focus; we want to develop Guyanese talent, so we are proud to be part of any initiative that does such.”
Also, Vishal Sawh, owner of the Auto Toy Store, and Denzel Hopkinson of Secure Innovations and Concepts Inc. have thrown their financial support behind the initiative. Patrons under the age of 12 will enter the venue free of charge, while spectators over that age will incur a cost of $1000.
