Minister of Amerindian Affairs Pauline Sukhai recently commissioned a $12 million meeting hall, funded by Guyana’s Carbon Credit Programme, at Moco Moco, Central Rupununi, Region Nine.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Amerindian Affairs, Village Toshao Thomas George explained that it was the first time the community took charge in cementing such a project that provided employment and economic opportunities.
During Sukhai’s visit, she also delivered solar photovoltaic systems along with accessories that aim to benefit over 150 households in the village.
