Romarion Wolfe, Michael Mohamed, Akeela Webster, Joel Trim, Navindra Carpen, and Athaleyah Hinckson recorded gold medal performances in their respective field events when the 61st edition of the National Schools’ Cycling and Track and Field Championships continued yesterday at the National Track and Field Centre, Leonora.

Wolfe smashed the boys’ U-14 high jump record, recording 1.66m to beat the previous mark held by current West Indies Academy player Isai Thorne of District 15 (New Amsterdam/Canje), who jumped at 1.63m.

In a similar vein, though unofficially, the Boys U-12 discuss saw Mohamed of home turf, District 3 (West Demerara), throw his way to a new record of 24.04m, two metres better than the previous mark set by Jamie Fraser’s (District 5) of 22.23m.
