Massy Distribution (Guyana) Incorporated and the Clerical and Commercial Workers’ Union (CCWU), yesterday signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for salary increases and other conditions of employment for Massy Distribution (Guyana) incorporated employees, a release from the Ministry of Labour said.
The MOA, which will take effect from October 2023 to 2025, was signed at the Ministry of Labour’s boardroom in the presence of Chief Labour Officer (CLO), Dhaneshwar Deonarine.
Massy Distribution Guyana Inc. was represented by Assistant Vice President, Christpen Bobb-Semple, and Human Resources Managers Sharon Rodrigues and Sarah Deokaran.
The CCWU, on the other hand, was represented by General Secretary, Sherwood Clarke, and General President, Kobena Paul.
Following the signing, Deonarine stated the ministry feels pleased that both parties were able to come to an amicable solution that benefits all parties involved, and that this process is precisely what the Labour Ministry is grateful to support.
“We want workers’ rights to be protected, and the Union has the responsibility to ensure that happens. So we are extremely grateful that the process went well,” he said.
