‘One Guyana’ King, Queen Beach Championship set for December 8th

The inaugural ‘One Guyana’ King and Queen Beach Football Championship will commence on December 8th in the mining town of Linden.

According to an official release from the tournament organisers, the event will be staged at the PPP office compound, Mackenzie, and will have approximately 52 male teams and 12 female sides. No registration is required to compete, with over $3,000,000 in prizes set to be awarded. The other playing nights are: 13th, 15th, 16th, 20th, 22nd, 26th, and 29th, with the final slated for January 1st, 2024.

According to the release, the event is an initiative of President Irfaan Ali, who is focused on assisting in the development of football in the region.

Meanwhile, the release stated a referees workshop will be conducted on Wednesday to ensure quality officiating throughout the entirety of the championship.
