A 42-year-old motorcyclist is now hospitalized in a critical condition after a motor car collided with him yesterday at about 1:30 am at ‘Wrong Turn’ Mahdia, Region Eight.
The man was identified as Darius Beete of 111 Mile, Mahdia, Region Eight. Darius’ brother Yancey Beete told Stabroek News that his brother was approaching ‘Wrong Turn’ on his motorcycle when a motor car collided with him. Darius suffered injuries to the head and other parts of his body. He was rushed to the Mahdia Hospital and was admitted in a critical state.
Yancey explained that the family and doctors were awaiting the medivac to transport his brother to Georgetown. Since the incident occurred the medivac is yet to be dispatched to the area. He added that his brother was only partly treated while other gaping wounds are exposed. Yancy said the doctors explained that the wounds can only be treated at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Investigations are ongoing.
