The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) says that the site where a GDF Bell 412 helicopter went down yesterday, has been positively identified and the aircraft spotted.
Search and rescue teams have also reported positive signs of life on the scene, the GDF said. Troops were to be rappelled to the exact site location but this has now been delayed due to inclement weather.
Earlier, the GDF had said that additional troops had been deployed to assist in the exercise and that search teams continue to grapple with inclement weather conditions as they navigated the search area.
