ExxonMobil has confirmed its support for the Berbice edition of the Future Warriors Primary Schools Tapeball Tournament, which is scheduled for December 9-10 at the Port Mourant Community Centre Ground.
The elimination tournament will feature 12 schools, with each team fielding 11 players from a squad of 13. Each inning will be eight overs in duration. The participating schools are Bohemia, Belvedere, Rose Hall Town, McGowan, No. 36, Tain, Kildonan, Alness, All Saints, St. Aloysius, Albion, and Fyrish. Community Relations Advisor for ExxonMobil Guyana, Ryan Hoppie, said, “We hope to witness remarkable performances throughout the tournament… play fair and grab every opportunity to build friendships.”
Meanwhile, Education Officer Surya Mahadeo lauded the initiative, which is required for the creation of well-rounded students.
Meanwhile, Leslie Solomon, Chairman of the Competitions Committee for the Berbice Cricket Board, stated that the entity is supportive of grassroots competitions, as they expose players who eventually transition to the higher level.
