Dear Editor,
Confidently, I pen this note to congratulate and to thank President Irfaan Ali for his expressions of shock, pain and sympathy on the death of five members of the Guyana Defence Force. It will be unnecessary to add any words to what the President has said. Confident that with eloquence, he spoke on behalf of a sorrowing nation. This tragedy this week has caused a certain additional pain since almost to the date, fifty years ago at a similar location, we lost Captain Walter Danraj and Co-Pilot Frank Watson who were flying a Guyana Airways Twin Otter. As we grieve let us be strong and be resilient.
