The suspect who was arrested twice in the murder of the 38-year-old accountant, Chooromanie Tulsie, has been released on station bail, according to Crime Chief, Wendell Blanhum.
Blanhum also disclosed that the DNA samples taken from both the suspect and that of Tulsie were sent for DNA testing and have not yet been returned.
Two weeks after Tulsie was murdered, her DNA samples were tested and the police are now awaiting those results. This is according to a source close to the case who related that the killer would have left a ‘distinct mark’ on her body.
Tulsie of Lot 26 Unity, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara, was found at around 8.00 am in the lower flat of her house, on November 19, lying on the ground with a piece of cloth stuffed inside her mouth and a knife stuck in the centre of her throat.
A relative believes that the perpetrator might have been known to the woman as nothing was stolen.
