The Diamond water well on the East Bank of Demerara, currently in its final stage of completion, has attracted  satisfaction from Guyana Water Inc (GWI) Chief Executive Shaik Baksh.

A release from GWI yesterday said that during his recent visit to the site, Baksh stated that the well will be operational and ready for transmission/distribution before the upcoming Christmas season. It is projected to serve over 27,000 residents.

To ensure the delivery of clean and safe water, the water extracted from the well will undergo treatment at the Diamond Treatment Plant before being distributed to customers, the release said.

Varying dates have been given during the year for the completion of this well.
