Dr. Beharry elected BCB President as Foster departs

President Dr. Cecil Beharry (2nd from right) poses with several members of his newly elected Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) Executive

As long-standing Berbice Cricket Board stalwart Hilbert Foster officially stepped back from cricket administration duties yesterday after six years, a new leader emerged in Dr. Cecil Beharry, who defeated Albert Smith by 18 votes to 14 to become the new BCB President.

Beharry, who was the BCB’s treasurer under Foster, will now look to take on the mantle of carrying out the BCB’s plans as they work towards the sustained development of cricket in the county of Berbice.

Foster and his team of executives, while in office, focused heavily on development, regular cricket tournaments, and developmental programmes during his tenure.
