The Lady Jaguars once again incurred defeat to Suriname in the final match of the return leg of their four-game U17 international series, losing 1-2 yesterday at the Dr. Franklin Essed Stadium, Paramaribo.
It was the second loss, and third consecutive overall defeat for the visitors, following their 0-1 downfall on Saturday at the same venue, as the Surinamese clinched the series 3-1. The Guyanese leg of the series ended 1-1. Guyana defeated Suriname 3-2 in the first fixture but lost the second encounter 0-1.
The event was conceptualised as a means to provide international competition to the U17 female programme after the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) withdrew from the 2023 CONCACAF U17 qualifiers.
