Saffie Daniels

The body of 17-year-old Saffie Daniels of Mabaruma Settlement North-West District, Region One was recovered from the Kaituma River on Friday evening, according to Regional Commander Senior Superintendent Himnauth Sawh.

Daniels was reported missing and presumed drowned after falling into the Kaituma River on December 12th.

According to the police, Wesley Daniels, and his son, Saffie, the only occupants in a small boat were travelling on the Kaituma River when the small vessel was struck by the waves of a larger vessel passing in the opposite direction. The matter was eventually reported to the police at Mabaruma. A search ensued immediately in the area but still the teen was not found.
