One month after losing an employee in a horrific truck accident, Zijin Mining Group, the operator of AGM Gold Mines is again in the spotlight after a truck working for it toppled down a hill and crushed the driver to death.
The driver has been identified as 32-year-old Tyrone Anthony.
Reports say that around 5 pm yesterday, Anthony was driving truck GAD 3757 in the vicinity of Buckhall when the incident occurred.
Anthony was negotiating a turn near a slope and while descending the slope he reportedly lost control of the truck.
The truck toppled and turned on its side. Anthony was pinned by the truck. He was rushed to a nearby health facility where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Back in November, at the company’s Aurora site, two trucks collided head-on and as a result, a driver died.
