Ray Yokum, a 41-year-old unemployed man of Lot 58 Lime Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown, was arrested on 2023-12-17 by a rank from the Lusignan Police Outpost and charged yesterday with the following offences:
(1) Possession of Narcotics for the Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to Section 5(1)(a)(i) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Act, Chapter 10:10 (40 grams of cocaine).
(2) Possession of Narcotics for the Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to Section 5(1)(a)(i) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Act, Chapter 10:10 (1,255 grams of Cannabis).
At about 11:00 yesterday the defendant appeared at the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Lambert where both charges were read to him. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded to prison.
The matter was adjourned to 2024-01-16.
