Canal #2 Sports Club crushed West Demerara Legends by 204 runs when the ‘Jits and Neelam’ 40-over Cricket Championship continued on Sunday at the Canal #2 Sports Club ground.
Batting first, the home side was dismissed for 271, with Narendra Persaud leading the way with a 126. Adding 40 and 36 runs each were Vishwanauth Jadunath and Yogendra Singh. Bowling for the Legends side, Avinash Shardandan recorded 5-38, with Imtiaz Sadik tallying 2-46.
In response, West Demerara Legends were bundled out for 67, as Joshua Rahaman registered 5-11, while Emmanuel Martin added 3-3. Tikoo Safeek and Chris Mangal were the only batsmen to reach double figures with 19 and 12 runs apiece.
