Capital FC, Milerock, and Coomacka were among the winners when the maiden edition of the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA) futsal championship commenced on Sunday at the Retrieve Tarmac, Linden.
Capital FC grounded the Eagles 5-3, while Milerock thrashed the Netrockers 8-3. Also, Coomacka edged the Hi-Stars 2-1. In other results, Topp XX downed the Golden Stars 3-0, Botofago mauled Amelia’s Ward Panthers 6-1, and Aroima crushed Blueberry Hill 9-4. Meanwhile, Winners Connection humbled Fearless 4-1.
The event continues today at the same venue with another round of matches. At 18:00hrs, Fearless will oppose Hi-Stars, while Blueberry Hill will engage Silver Shattas at 18:45hrs, and Eagles will take aim at Golden Stars at 19:30hrs.
In the fourth encounter at 20:15hrs, the Netrockers will lock 
horns with Amelia’s Ward, while Milerock battled Botofago from 21:00hrs, and Winners Connection faces off against Coomacka at 21:45hrs. In the final match, Capital FC tackles Topp XX at 22:30hrs.
