Akbar Sookra, a 21-year-old labourer of Queens-town, Essequibo Coast was on Tuesday sentenced to 18 months imprisonment for praedial larceny.
The larceny was committed on Toney Narine, a 38-year-old farmer of Capoey public road, Essequibo Coast.
Sookra is accused of committing the offence on 11th October 2023.
The case was heard at the Anna Regina Magis-trate’s Court before Magistrate Esther Sam. The magistrate found the defendant guilty of the offence and sentenced him to 18 months imprisonment with a fine of $50,000.
