Regent Street – between Vlissengen Road to the east and Avenue of the Republic to the west – will be
closed to eastbound traffic in an effort to ensure a smoother flow of traffic during the heightened Christmas shopping.
This will take effect from today, Thursday December 21st and run until midnight on Christmas Eve.
Road users are reminded to pay attention to traffic ranks who will be placed at various points along the roadways and to adhere to directions.
There have been complaints that over the last week traffic has backed up at key intersections without any evidence of a police presence.
