Kevin Thompson and Kelvin Pitts appeared yesterday before Chief Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court where they were charged with larceny.
It is alleged that between November 1 and November 16, the two stole a quantity of household appliances valued at $1,189,000 from the Home Store.
Both Thompson and Pitts pled not guilty to the charge.
The court heard that a search was conducted by the police and a quantity of stolen items was found. Police prosecutor, Quincy Lacon, objected to bail due to the seriousness and the prevalence of the offence, and the quantity of items that were stolen.
The magistrate granted bail to both of the accused at the sum of $150,000 with the condition that they report to the Ruimveldt police station every fourth Friday of the month commencing Friday December 22, until the end of the matter.
The case was adjourned to February 7, 2024.
