The Young Gunners defeated Yarrowkabra-B 1-0. Similarly, Airline B-2 soared past Swan B by a 2-1 score-line. Meanwhile, Gold is Money demolished Swan All-Stars 6-0, while North East La Penitence smashed Swan A 3-0.
Dubbed ‘Soesdyke/Timehri versus the Rest’ by the coordinating crew, the invading competitors will emanate from the environs of Georgetown, Linden, East Coast Demerara, West Demerara, and East Bank Demerara.
In other results, Festival City dismantled Circuitville A 4-0, while Back Circle downed Linden C 2-0. Also, Linden A crushed Ice House 3-0, while Team 45 outhustled Hilltop 2-1.
The teams will play for a winner’s purse of GYD $700,000, with the runners-up receiving $200,000, third place $150,000, and fourth place $50,000. The tournament resumes today at the same venue before continuing on Christmas Day, with the final pencilled for Boxing Day (December 26).
