An unidentified man was shot dead yesterday by a supernumerary constable after he was seen pulling at the padlocks securing a container with fruits and vegetables, property of a Campbellville businessman. The supernumerary constable has since been arrested.
Police said the incident occurred around 00:05 hrs between Campbell Avenue and Delph Street, Campbellville, Georgetown. It involved a man (age, occupation and address unknown) and a 31-year-old supernumerary constable employed by Bentley Security Service, who was armed with a Glock 19 pistol and 14 live matching rounds, property of the security firm.
