(Trinidad Express) A 34-year-old police constable is expected to appear virtually before the Port-of-Spain Magistrates’ Court tomorrow charged with the December 17 murder of two siblings and the shooting of a man at the Courts Mega Store Car Park in El Socorro, San Juan.
Constable Sidney Roberts, who was last attached to the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), was charged on Christmas Day with the murdering Simeon Lessey, 33, and Siniaya Lessey, 35, and with Shooting with Intent to do Grievous Bodily Harm of another man.
The charges were laid by Assistant Superintendent of Police (Ag.), Daniel Hernandez, of the North-Eastern Division (NED).
Roberts was arrested in an exercise conducted by officers of the Professional Standards Bureau.
On December 17, several units attached to the NED responded to explosions at the Courts Mega Store Car Park in El Socorro, San Juan.
