Two men were on Wednesday charged with armed robbery committed at 19th Avenue, Diamond, East Bank Demerara on August 23rd this year.
Delon George, a 22-year-old resident of Diamond Housing Scheme and Alex Simpson, a 25-year-old resident of the same area were both arrested by an Anti-Crime Patrol rank on December 22, 2023, a release from the police said.
They were charged on Wednesday with Robbery Under Arms. The two are accused of committing the armed robbery against Dharshanan Bandho, on August 23, 2023, at 19th Avenue Diamond.
They appeared at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrate Court #1 before Senior Magistrate Sunil Scarce, where the charge was read to them and they pleaded not guilty.
George was remanded to prison, and bail was granted in the sum of $200,000 to Simpson. The matter was postponed to January 2, 2024, for statements.
