President Irfaan Ali this afternoon announced that Minister of Public Service, Sonia Parag is to take up the post of Minister of Local Government.
The position became vacant last year after the holder, Nigel Dharamlall resigned after he came under investigation for rape.
In a Facebook address, President Ali said that the public service portfolio will now come under Senior Minister in the Office of the President with responsibility for Finance, Dr Ashni Singh.
