Guyanese national basketball player loses on collegiate circuit

Akeem Crandon and Barry University suffered their fourth loss of the season, going down to Eckerd College 79-80 on Tuesday evening at the McArthur Centre in St. Petersburg, Florida.

In 23 minutes on play, the former Plaisance Guardian player recorded figures of seven points, 10 rebounds, one assist, and as many blocks as his team’s three-game win streak was snapped in the hard-fought result. With the outcome, Barry University’s record falls to 7-4.

Crandon during the 2023–2024 season has defeated the likes of Montevallo, Florida National (twice), Emory & Henry, Bluefield State, Clayton State, and Findlay. On the other hand, he has also incurred losses against Alabama Huntsville, Palm Beach Atlantic, and Nova Southeastern.
