Associations in the county of Demerara will head into the first action of 2024 when the Demerara Cricket Board (DCB)/SVC/Precision Services Inc. Inter-Association T20 Tournament resumes today.
Double-header matches are set for the Meten-Meer-Zorg (MMZ) ground today in the third round of matches while the iconic Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) at Bourda will see another double-header tomorrow in the fourth round.
Today, the Upper Demerara Cricket Association (UDCA) Scorpions will clash with the East Coast Cricket Board (ECCB) Canje Pheasants in game one at 9 AM. Home side West Demerara Cricket Association (WDCA) Jaguars will take on the East Bank Cricket Association (EBCA) Tigers at 1PM. The Georgetown Cricket Association Panthers who are so far undefeated have drawn a ‘Bye’ for today’s round of matches.
Meanwhile, tomorrow will see the UDCA Scorpions face the EBCA Tigers in the early game at 9 AM while GCA Panthers who will be on home turf will come up against the ECCB Canje Pheasants at 1 PM. For that round of matches, WDCA Jaguars have drawn a bye.
The tournament which is in its round robin stage will conclude that phase with fifth round matches on Saturday (January 13) at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) Ground.
In those matches, the UDCA Scorpions play WDCA Jaguars at 9 AM while EBCA Tigers clash with GCA Panthers at 1 PM with the ECCB Canje Pheasants drawing a bye.
The top four teams from the round robin stage will move on to the semi-finals which are slated for GCC with a tentative date of January 14.
The third-place playoff and the final are also scheduled to be played at GCC on January 20 and 21 respectively.
