Close to 100 persons can now commence construction at the Shieldstown, West Bank Berbice, housing development.

A release yesterday from the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CHPA) said that this is now possible as the majority of the first phase infrastructure has been completed, paving the way for the first batch of persons to identify their respective lots.

Surveyors from the Agency’s Planning and Settlement Department led the lot identification exercise, yesterday morning.

With documentation in hand, each allottee was shown their lot, and boundary line and allowed to plant a signpost with their assigned lot number and name.

The new Shieldstown housing scheme will soon be home to approximately 700 families, the release said.

Over the coming days, other allotees will be invited to participate in this exercise which is being done in batches.
