In “A Teacher,” Claire Wilson (played by Kate Mara) ignores her own loving husband in favour of high school senior, Eric Walker (Nick Robinson), her student. She fantasizes about him and finds ways to get close to him before manipulating him into sexual abuse. Over the course of the 10 episodes, the show depicts this disturbing process, commonly known as grooming.
A male teacher at my niece’s high school is allegedly grooming my niece. On her phone, I found inappropriate text messages between my niece and the teacher. My niece is 18 so I don’t believe the authorities will do anything about it because she has passed the age of consent. But I wouldn’t be surprised if this teacher was grooming her for years, but I found out because she just started living with us.
I’m writing because I want to stop him from being a dangerous predator to our vulnerable children, but I don’t know how to do it without getting the authorities involved. My niece can’t change school because this is her last year in school. I feel helpless, I don’t know what to do, please help me.
