Four Guyanese referees have secured qualification to the 2024 FIFA List to officiate in international matches during this 12-month period.
This was confirmed by the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) during an official release. According to the release, the quartet is Kleon Lindley, Shavin Greene, Denisha Isaacs, and Colin Abel.
The release stated that the GFF and the Guyana Football Referees Council (GFRC) have extended congratulations to the quartet.
Lindey, who was first selected for the FIFA list in 2025, has been a fixture following his 10th consecutive appointment. He featured in several matches during the CONCACAF Nations League in 2023.
The release further stated that this is Greene’s second appearance on the list following his 2022 breakthrough due to his successful participation in the CFU Next Generation course. He featured in the second leg of the CONCACAF Caribbean Cup semifinal in Jamaica on October 31st, 2023.
Meanwhile, Isaacs, who is the sole Guyanese on the list, also made her debut in 2022. On the other hand, this is Abel’s second appearance at this juncture, and he is the only Futsal official on the list.
