Four in custody after eight fields of ganja destroyed at Yarrowkabra

An intelligence-led Police operation was conducted  yesterday between 4 am and 11.30 am in Yarrow-kabara backdam off the Soesdyke/Linden High-way, which resulted in the arrest of four persons and the discovery of eight fields of Cannabis Sativa (marijuana) plants.

The operation, led by an Assistant Superintendent from Special Branch and comprising several ranks from Regional Division 4B, resulted in the discovery of well-cultivated narcotics (Cannabis Sativa) plants ranging from two feet to three feet in height, on eight fields measuring one hundred by two hundred (100×200) square feet. Eight camps were also seen, a release from the police said.
