Windies crumble against Aussie pace attack

At press time the West Indies were tottering at 159 for nine in the first Test against Australia at the Adelaide Oval.

Australian captain Pat Cummins and his fellow pace bowler Josh Hazlewood ripped through the heart of the batting with four wickets each.

The top scorer for West Indies was Kirk McKenzie with 50. There was no other notable score. Captain Kraigg Brathwaite was bowled by Cummins for 13.

There were three debutants including Guyanese fast bowler Shamar Joseph.

Australia elected to field.
