Nineteen-year-old Sain Phillips of Lot 28 Highland Park appeared before Chief Magis-trate Sherdel Isaacs at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court yesterday where he charged with possession of ammunition.

It was alleged that on January 14, he had in his possession live .223 ammunition.

Phillips pleaded guilty to the charge.

The prosecutor told the court that on the day in question, the police intercepted Phillips at the Route 48 bus park and a physical search was conducted where they found the ammunition in a secret compartment in his pocket.

Magistrate Isaacs asked Phillips if what the prosecutor said was true and he admitted that it was. He also told the magistrate that he had intended to sell the ammunition and that he got it from his older cousin.

On the question of previous antecedents, he admitted that he was before the courts twice for simple larceny.

The prosecutor objected to bail citing the seriousness and prevalence of the offence and as such, bail was refused.

Phillips was remanded to prison until his next scheduled court appearance on February 7.
