(Trinidad Guardian) Richard Ramkissoon, owner of Superstore in Arima and a father of two succumbed to injuries he sustained following a home invasion yesterday morning.
Relatives told Guardian Media that around 3 am, Ramkisson, his girlfriend, and two children were asleep at their Mausica home when six men armed with guns, knives and a cutlass entered the house by removing the galvanize.
They announced a hold-up and proceeded to tie up the family and beat them.
The bandits then search-ed the house taking cash, jewellery and cellphones and made their escape in a waiting vehicle.
The police were alerted by neighbours while they rushed Ramkissoon to St Joseph Medical Associate Nursing Home where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police are continuing the investigation.
