Asif Mohamed Abrahim, a 45-year-old construction worker of New Road, Vreed-en-Hoop, West Coast Demerara, was arrested on 18th January 2024 and charged yesterday with Trafficking in Persons.
The accused appeared before Magistrate Faith McGusty, via Zoom, at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court where the charge was read to him.
He pleaded not guilty and was further remanded to prison. The case was adjourned to 5th February 2024, for statements.
