The off spin duo of Junior Sinclair and Anthony Adams tore through the batting line-up of Kevlon Anderson’s XI to put Kemol Savory’s XI in the ascendancy on a shortened day one of the second Guyana Harpy Eagles trial match at the Meten-Meer-Zorg Community Ground on the West Coast of Demerara yesterday.
The game began at 1:40 pm due to seepage of water under the covers at the venue overnight, and saw skipper Savory winning the toss and inserting Anderson and his men to bat. The spinner friendly pitch yielded rich rewards for the bowling side who had Anderson’s XI one wicket down without a run on the board in the first over as Sachin Singh was removed by Clinton Pestano, caught behind for a duck. Things did not improve much as Singh’s opening partner Rampertab Ramnauth was run out for 13 with the score at 26.
