Sparta Boss, North East La Penitence, and Gunners were among the winners when the ‘Georgetown versus the Rest’ Street-ball championship commenced on Tuesday evening at the Back Circle tarmac, East Ruimveldt.
Sparta Boss crushed Sophia B 2-0 in the feature encounter of the night. Similarly, Gunners riddled Bent Street 3-0. On the other hand, North East La Penitence overcame Back Circle B 2-1.
In other results, Broad Street dismissed Five O by a 1-0 score, while Make It Happen bested Timehri by the identical score-line. Also, Red Force downed Team Cruel 1-0, and the LA Ballers edged the Stabroek Ballers 1-0.
The event continues today at the same venue with another round of group stage fixtures. At 19:30hrs, Ballers Empire will oppose Sophia A, while Showstoppers take aim at Unstoppable at 20:00hrs, and Agricola will lock horns with Victoria Eagles at 20:30hrs.
In the fourth fixture, California Square will battle Festival City from 21:00hrs, with Family engaging Lodge All-Stars at 21:30hrs, and Gold is Money taking aim at Genesis from 22:00hrs. In the final match, Back Circle A will face off against Footsteppers at 22:30hrs.
