Enil Ramrattan, a 41-year-old miner of Onderneem-ing Sand Pit, Essequibo Coast, was charged last week with the possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking (474 grams of cannabis).
A release from the police said that the case was heard on Thursday last, via Zoom, at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Esther Sam, where the charge was read to him and he pleaded not guilty.
Bail was objected to by the Prosecutor and the defendant was remanded to prison.
The case was adjourned to 2024-02-08 for disclosure of statements.
