The Muse Hookah Bar on Mandela Avenue has thrown its support behind the impending Mashramani Street-ball Championships, which are slated for Sunday, February 18th, 2024, at the National Park, Thomas Lands.

The supervisor of the establishment, Kevin ‘Chelsea’ Evans, made the presentation on behalf of the proprietor, Jamal Scott. Receiving on behalf of the organising committee was Khashana Yhap.

During brief remarks, Evans said, “Mr. Scott went to school with [Edison] Jefford, and they were both sportsmen. I think that’s where their relationship developed, and today, as an entrepreneur, I am happy to see them still collaborating. I believe they worked together as sports journalists at one time as well.”

He further stated that countless members of the street-ball community support the establishment, which made it an easy decision to serve as a sponsor of the championship. Meanwhile, Yhap thanked the company for their continued benevolence.

The event is pencilled to feature 16 teams competing for more than $1,000,000 in prizes. The winning team will pocket $500,000 and the championship trophy, with the runner-up collecting $250,000 and the respective trophy. Similarly, the third- and fourth-place finishers will receive $150,000 and $100,000, respectively, alongside the corresponding accolade.
