Dear Editor,
So it seems our neighbour to the west has walked back on some agreements brokered in Barbados concerning free and fair elections in that country, which has resulted in a reimposition of some sanctions eased by the U S (News Room, Jan 30). This move saw a ‘serene, reciprocal and energetic’ response from our neighbour. Could this response be interpreted as a veiled threat to our sovereignty? Could it see an escalating atmosphere and tension to the controversy despite ICJ provisional orders and Argyle Declaration?
Sincerely,
Shamshun Mohamed
