The Golden Jaguars senior men’s programme will open their group D campaign in the second round of the 2026 FIFA World Qualifiers away to regional heavyweight Panama on June 6th.
This was confirmed by CONCACAF in the official publication of the match fixtures for the first and second rounds of the qualifiers. Guyana will travel to Panama before hosting Belize in their second encounter with the pool on June 11th. The Guyanese will then contest their third match of the qualifiers away to Nicaragua on June 6th, 2025, before concluding their campaign by hosting Montserrat four days later. In their previous 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign, Guyana ended with a record of one win and three losses to finish in fourth place on three points. Guyana defeated The Bahamas 4-0 but suffered defeats against Trinidad and Tobago [0-3], St. Kitts and Nevis [0-3], and Puerto Rico [0-2].
