The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) U-15 Inter-County 50-over tournament culminates today with the third and final round of matches with Demerara and Berbice set to add another chapter in their eternal rivalry.
Both sides are undefeated in their two matches thus far, having dispatched Essequibo and the GCB Select XI with relative ease with key contributions from their respective captains. While the swashbuckling middle-order batsman Adrian Hetmyer leads Berbice, Emmanuel Lewis is a rising star in his own right, a belligerent batsman and a handy bowler as well.
Lewis who has chalked up a century and two three-wicket hauls thus far will be looking to pull one over Hetmyer who made an important 55 on Tuesday to set the base for his side’s win over the Select XI. That match gets underway today at 9:30AM at the DCC Ground, providing the weather stays clear while the Select XI and Essequibo will be looking for a consolation win to close off the tournament at the Malteenoes Sports Club Ground.
