LUCAS STOCK INDEX (LSI)
The final trading period in January 2024 has seen the Lucas Stock Index decline a further 0.047 percent on the sale of 47,485 shares. Seven stocks were traded this week among which were two Climbers and three Tumblers. The Tumblers lost G$2.2B in value while the Climbers gained G$1.9B which caused the value of the index to fall by G$0.3B this week.
The stock price of Banks DIH (DIH) rose 0.323 percent on the sale of 35,741 shares while that of Citizens Bank Inc. rose 6.30 percent on the sale of 170 shares.
In contrast, the stock price of Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) fell 0.944 percent on the sale of 1,153 shares while that of Republic Bank Limited (RBL) fell 0.444 percent on the sale of 10,160 shares. In addition, the stock price of Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (BTI) fell 0.243 percent on the sale of 60 shares.
In the meanwhile, the stock prices of Demerara Tobacco Company (DTC) and Sterling Products Limited (SPL) remained unchanged on the sale of 81 and 120 shares respectively.
