Yesterday afternoon, experienced school football tournament coordinators, the Petra Organisation, launched their 2024 season at the Massey Distribution Office at Montrose, East Coast Demerara.

Their first tournament of the year will be the 10th edition of the Milo Secondary Schools U-18 Football Championship, sponsored by Massey through their Nestle product Milo, and will commence on February 18.

While Petra has invited some 52 schools from across Guyana, that number has been whittled down to 24. The games are slated to be played at the Ministry of Education Ground and the NIS Ground, both on Carifesta Avenue, Georgetown. The winners of this year’s tournament will get GYD $300,000, while the runners-up will pocket $150,000, and third place will settle for $75,000.
