As the Petra Organisation prepares to roll out the 10th edition of the Milo U-18 Schools Football Tournament, 11 schools have been confirmed by the organisers as securing automatic entry to the tournament.
Santa Rosa Secondary is in by virtue of having won last year’s tournament, while perennial challengers Chase’s Academic Foundation and Carmel Secondary are also included. Other Georgetown-based teams that have sealed automatic berths are Marian Academy, West Ruimveldt, Queen’s College, Charlestown Secondary, and Dolphin Secondary.
Linden-based Mackenzie High School, along with East Coast Demerara’s President’s College and Bartica Secondary School, are the others that have also been included.
The tournament, which was launched on Tuesday, will feature 24 teams in total, with matches being played at the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) and Ministry of Education grounds on Carifesta Avenue. The final of the tournament is tentatively set for April 14.
